Wife and I inherited her grandmother and mothers collection of porcelain and ceramic items. This “Urn” (not sure if thats what to call it) is 7″h x 6″w. There is one tine chip at the top. Besides that it looks pristine. The bottom is marked “Hand Painted” and “Nippon”. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Its a little urn shaped vase !! The Nippon mark on bottom has been used since 1911 and is one of the more common marks !! The M in the center is for Morimura Bros.Importers !! The word “Nippon” roughly translates to “Island in the Sun” and is the local word for “Japan” !! Many of these were sold worldwide and some were brought home with soldiers !! Very pretty little vase !! Will look nice with a bouquet of flowers and be a family keepsake !!
