Hello,

I am new to Kovels. I have searched and searched everywhere for information on a mark that is on two Staffordshire Spaniels
with no luck. I am not sure if the picture shows the mark right side up or upside down. Can anyone shed some light on this mark?

Hello,
I picked them up at an estate sale here in Fort Worth, Texas. I saw another dog with the same mark on Ebay. Unfortunately, the seller didn’t know the origin of the mark either.

Heard back this morning about your spaniels !! He found nothing in the books on Staffordshire and no record of the mark anywhere !! But he said they were likely 19th century but how early,,could not say with any certainty !!
May I ask how you came to own the dogs and what your location is !! At this point anything you know or have been told by family ( if inherited) would be helpful !!

He is checking his books for that mark !! He works with Museums in the UK so hopefully he can find it !! He said he had never seen that mark on Staffordshire figures !! Maybe it will be an early one !! Crossing my fingers !!
