Hello,

I am new to Kovels. I have searched and searched everywhere for information on a mark that is on two Staffordshire Spaniels
with no luck. I am not sure if the picture shows the mark right side up or upside down. Can anyone shed some light on this mark?

Thank you!

Yes,, Thank you for the additional pics !! Your spaniels are quite nice !! The mark on the bottom is raised is it not ?? Rather than impressed into the clay !! I can not find any one who made the Staffordshire Dogs that used that mark !! Most are not marked at all !! They are old figures and not reproductions as far as I can tell from the pics !! And look to be press molded figures !! They show appropriate age on the bottom and have the small firing hole so I think they may date to the mid 1800`s !! The colors are correct from what I found !! I would suggest that you find someone to do a hands on valuation as some of these figures can be a bit pricey !! Check the prices on the link !! !! I do not know if they are actual selling prices or asking prices !! Wish I could help more,, sorry !!
I am going to inquire with a friend in the UK that is quite knowledgable on English pottery and see if he knows the mark !!

I uploaded 3 photos, but it seems only one is showing. I’ll try again…
Here are the two dogs side by side, front and back. Thank you for your help as well as your patience.

Hello, thank you for your reply. I am uploading new photos, I hope they are clearer than the last ones!
The mark looks like a little house with three parallel lines and two horizontal lines. I hope between the photo and my description it is a little more clear.
I appreciate any information you can give me!
