This bowl was part of my mom and dad’s estate. They enjoyed collecting, but were not very good at documenting. This bowl is not very pretty, with worn shades of yellow, browns and orange. It is approximately 6 inches high, 5 inches wide and 9 inches long. Approximate because I didn’t have a tape measure with me. The underside of the bowl is marked 1653 Made in England. Any help identifying this bowl and the maker, as well as value, would be appreciated.

I believe your bowl is 20th century English Majolica !! The link above will help you understand what it is and what it is not !! These were mostly export pieces for sale in countries other than England !! Many were sold here in the U.S. !! The “Made in England” or England was on all export wares after the Tariff act of 1912 !!
