I have inherited, what I think is, an unusual flower urn. I have not been able to find any information on the pattern or an approximate date for this piece. The urn stands 5″ tall and is 6″ wide with the handles. I’ve been looking for two years now without luck at all. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Well youre vase or cup is from circa 1920 to 30 with hand painted
flower decor. The mark is an importer mark for the U.S. to import
german porcelain before World War 2.
the dating i see on youre flower decoration come after art nouveau
in to art deco period and style.
Heinrich & Co only made royal porcelain together with winterling from
1950 as far as i know.
keep it for some years they only go up in price if in good condition
greeting bart from belgium
im sorry i told the story wrong here is the history:
Porzellanfabrik Heinrich Winterling G.m.b.H. & Co. K.G. (1903 until …)
Heinrich Winterling born in Rehau (Bavaria) is from the same family as the
founders of the ⇒Gebrüder Winterling O.H.G. in Röslau (Bavaria). Even if
the marks used by the Heinrich Winterling G.m.b.H. & Co. K.G. and the Gebrüder
Winterling O.H.G. are very similar sometimes (especially after 1950), these are
two independent companies. Specialized very early on coffee and tea sets, giftware,
complete dinner sets and had 250 employees in 1913, 400 in 1930 and 600 in 1937.
And as i have some royal heinrich myself they are dated 1950
again sorry for my post before i mix them together
greetings
Shown mark is a lesser-known mark of Heinrich & Co. from the city of Selb in Bavaria. It was used between 1923 and 1933 on whiteware intended for studios and hobbyists. This also explains why you could not find matching patterns; items like these were often unique / custom-made by the hobbyist.
As you can see I already fully answered this question. But what interest me here is how you come to say that this mark was an “import mark” and that Heinrich worked with Winterling. Please avoid spreading such nonsense in future.
