Hello,
I have this cake footed plate, that I want to sell.. I found this mark in it that says ‘Royal Crown Bavaria’. I tried to seach for information about it, I’ve searched at all internet, the label and the flower painting.. but I coudn’t find anything even similar to it.. even in porcelain label catalogs, I haven’t seen anything like it.. I know it was a gift probably bought in the 90’s. All I wanted to know is some information about the porcelain, the painting.. and how much it is worth
Thank You!
Well It isn`t really weird when you think about it !! In order to find another like it you need to know the pattern name if it has one !! I have looked for three days and found nothing !! Yes you can find many mfrs that use Royal Crown in the name but most of those are known companies !! There is no mfr with that name in Germany or anywhere else !! I even checked trademarks and there is not one that I could find !! Chances are this is a short lived importer that may or may not still be in business !! Importers contract with the potteries to produce X number of items at a certain price,, then the importer sticks his name on it and sells them in the US and other countries !!
My suggestion would be to go to Replacements.com and look on their home page,,they have a free china matching service!! Perhaps they can tell you more !!
Most cake stands like this are selling for between $15. and $25. USD !! Some are less than that !!
Is this name on the cake plate itself or on a box ?? Is there a mark on the bottom of the plate itself ?? It is transfer ware !!
This is likely a trademark and not a mfrs mark,, could also be an importers name !! Let me do some checking !!
It is in the bottom of the plate, in the interior. It’s not a label glued, i’ts really ‘painted’ in it.. The plate has no other mark… As far as I searched, there are marks from Royal Crown Bavaria.. Just none of them looks like that one, and there are plates with similar paintings, but I can’t find any that has the same painting, wich is weird I think… I mean, this probably was made in a factory, I supposed that should exist more like this one..
Good night Martha. I’ve been searching too, and I finally found out a porcelain brand that has the same pattern! still… the label/mark isn’t the same.. it’s a german brand too, but not the same name.. I don’t know much about porcelain.. so, do you have any idea of how can I have a plate, made in german, with the same pattern that the others, but with a different mark… that doesn’t appear anywhere, in any site..
here is the name of the porcelain that looks just like my plate…’gloria fine porcelain bavaria bayreuth ‘
Martha, thank you so much for your time, and for explaining me so much things! I love history, and i love to know more about any subject! Thank you!!!!
