Hi again,
Can anyone give me info on this piece? Appeared to have had a lid at one point as there is a hole on side of top as shown in photo. The camera made the colors really ‘pop’..they are not that vivid in person. Haviland on bottom with 1627 hand painted in gold. Thanks in advance

Mmmm,, I would ask what their offer would be !! Then look on some of the online sales sites and see what comparable items sell for !!Keep in mind that your pitcher is missing the lid and is not as elaborately decorated as most I have seen !! Then just pick the best offer !! But they pay for the shipping,, not you so what ever it is would be plus shipping !! Look through the google listings above and see if you can find something similar !! Especially the ebay listings !!
Wouldn`t hurt to tell them that there are several that are interested so you will look at the best offer !!

@Marthahill

I posted photo’s on a Havilands Collector’s site. Several people responded saying it is a very nice piece from the 1800’s as you said. Was also told that it is made from mud!! They are asking if I’m interested in selling it….probably yes…how would I go about finding a fair value? Any suggestions….

About Us

From what little I could find this appears to be Haviland barbotine or majolica !!
That is a form of slip casting decoration !! Could find several pics of Haviland barbotine pottery but little info about the company history using that form of decoration !! I would send good pics to the Haviland collectors,, link above !! They may be able to give more info than I can find online !!

Thank you…will do!!

Oh I forgot to included that! No…not a creamer…it’s 11″ tall. Yes…I guess it would be more like an earthenware.

How big is this pitcher ? If small,, may be a creamer !! I think you have the D mark,, 1879 to 1883 !!
Is this like an earthenware rather than a porcelain or china ?? Its kind of out of the norm for Haviland !!
