So its on top of the glaze ?? That says it is an import piece or possibly made here in the U.S.!! Factory marks would be under the glaze !! However there are decorators marks which have nothing to do with the maker other than they worked there !! They used many ordinary people that did the artwork !! Very few were trained artists !! Yours looks to have a combination of transfer ware and some hand work !! The larger floral groups look to be transfers and the hand work would be the small accents and the top flowers and gold trim !! Many were done this way !!
Back during that time most ladies had a vanity and I am betting this was something that was used for that purpose !! Could have been used for cotton balls or Q-tips for make-up !! Getting dressed was more of a ritual back then and ladies were rarely caught with out their face being done properly !! Dresser or vanity sets could be rather elaborate unlike what is used today !! This may have had other matching items !!

No , the mark is under the glaze .

Well,, its a factory piece and not studio pottery !! What is the size of the item and what country are you in ?? Looks like typical import item from the 1940`s or after !! Is the mark on the bottom on top of the glaze or under it ?? Does not look like any mark I have seen !! The purpose of a factory mark is so people would know who made it and they could sell other pieces !! That is why they have specific symbols/names or marks that people would know !!

Hi , it’s about 2.5″ round and about 6″ tall , the mark is under the glaze ! I’m in the USA . I know it was bought in or about the 1940’s but not sure where ! Thanks for the information and any thing else you might know about it !thanks !!
