I’m wondering if anyone can identify if the attached pictures are from an actual Capo Dimonte piece. I was presented with this item as a gift 20 years ago and have always kept it in my home when someone told me that it was a Capodimonte from Italy. I took a picture of the mark on the bottom of the piece, which is also attached. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Its a very nice piece and well worth keeping !! The value would vary depending on personal taste !! Some like this style and some do not !! I am guessing that yours would likely be in the $50. to $65. range if perfect and with no damage !! Collectors want perfect items !!

Yes, it’s in perfect condition. No damage at all.

Thank you for your comments and encouragement. I truly appreciate your time in responding to me!

WOW! I’ve been for over year+ trying to price 2 Table Lamps with Shades. These are signed, numbered, Cupid, basket weave, claw feet on marble base. I purchased these lamps at a Huge Estate sale located in San Francisco about 30 years ago. If I was to send you pictures would you help me with the value? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve learnt all about hardships this company has been through, it’s terrible kinda like being hack? Some of the pieces are extremely detailed and the huge amount of creations from Lamps, Statue, Figurine, Urns…Thank You ?

Yes,, Friedrich is correct !! With so many companies and studios using the mark there is little standard to go by !! Much of what is sold online and advertised as Capodimonte is not in that style at all !! Yours I think is !! The applied flowers are common to that style !!
Anyone producing this type item,,if in the capodimonte region can use the crowned N mark !! That signifies where it was made !! There are many variations of marks depending on which mfr. made it !!

Thank you, Martha! I’m excited at the possibility that my item might be in the true Capadimonte style. I guess the biggest thing is that I love it! Thanks again! I’ve learned so much in so little time in this forum.

Ahhhhh…..that makes sense! That’s why there were so many different marks online!

Thank you!

The Capodimonte name (once refering to the former factory of Naples) is one of the most misused marketing tags worldwide. It is no factory or maker but a REGION in Italy and – as such – houses a wide collection of factories, potteries and artists, many of which are totally overrated and/or overpriced.

Matching marks is no matter of comparing one mark against the marks table of one company.

Yes, under the “N,” it says “CAPODIMONTE” in a half circle shape. Underneath that, it says “MADE IN ITALY” .

I looked online and didn’t see other marks like mine because they didn’t have the “Made in Italy” in a straight line. Plus, the pieces I saw online don’t look like mine. I thought maybe mine was not really a Capodimonte…..and I don’t even know the significance of the Capodimonte mark anyway. It’s just a really pretty piece and it was given to me by a good friend, which is why I like it and have kept it. Thank you so very much for responding. I truly appreciate any input you have!
