Hi All,

I’m new to the antique world so any assistance is greatly appreciated!

I was told this piece was a Meissen, but I can’t seem to find anything online about a red Meissen mark. Anyone know if it is or not? Did Meissen mark any of their pieces with a red X?

Again, any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michelle

Good site above !! Meissen never used red or an X !! What I have seen is a mfr use something similar to mark items as “seconds” when there is something less than perfect on porcelain items !! Those that can not be sold as first quality are marked and sold as seconds !!

Thanks for the info Martha and the other site you gave me, many thanks!!!
