I found this vase at a garage sale in Minnesota. The owner said it was German and from the early 1900s. It looks more Asian to me. I would like to know more about this vase and its origins.

the vase is jugendstill period but at the moriage painting i think its repro of some kind of Original german eagle jugendstill vase .

greeting from Belgium

This is not German (and not Jugendstil or an eagle, either).

I agree it is not German from what little I know !! It is not an eagle !! An eagle has a different tail !! Large birds of any kind would not have a tail like that !! Asian is the most likely !!

PS,, Don`t believe everything they tell you when they are trying to make a sale !1

Is he bird a raised pattern ?? The raised dots called Moriage are used in Japan ect but the bird does not look like anything they would have used !! Could be either one ?? Is anything marked on the bottom ?? Can you take a pic of it please ??
