My son bought me a set a year ago and it was a tea pot, 2 ashtrays, sugar/creamer and salt/pepper all sitting on a tray all made of porcelain with oriental decoration on them, he bought this set at a antique peddlers mall in Kentucky and none of it had makers mark on it, The tray also has little slots where this all fits in.. 2 weeks ago I went to a auction on Toledo Ohio and I found this tea/coffee pot and it goes with this set and the only marking on this is a sticker on bottom marked “Japan” . Can anyone out there please help me identify these pieces?
Thank you,Tammy

Stickers were placed on Japan ware in 1953 to present. This pattern is the Geisha Girl styling most common in the 50ties. I found a simular piece in my books only in shades of brown. It was called “River Edge” Your other pieces the stickers were either washed off or fell off during shipping after the war. Also there is a lot of reprodutions of this pattern. Especially the Geisha Girl. The younger generation like to collect the Geisha pattern. Where it was made in Japan is hard to say as there were hundreds of factories.
