I have two John Maddocks & Sons serving platters, one large and one small.I’ve traced their marks to the 1896-1906 timeframe, but am unable to find any information about the crown imprint and additional Roman numerals that are also stamped onto the bottom of the platters. Perhaps they are not Roman numerals, as one of them looks like a “J”. Any ideas? Thanks!

The photos are from the larger platter. I know the second image is very difficult to see. It has a crown with three points, and under that are the capital letters CVJ, and then under that are three straight lines, and off to the side are three more straight lines.

THe smaller platter (no image) his similar markings, but the wrown is missing a point on the left side, and under the crown is the letter C with a period, and under that is IV.
