I have teacups with the picture of King Oscar II and Queen Sofia of Sweden (king died 1907). Was told by family that a relative was a maid in the royal family and brought these teacups with her when she came to America. The only marking is on the Queen’s cup and best I can make out it say ‘Johan Ekolsen Estate” with a simple flower in the middle. Research to date makes me believe that Bing & Grondahl may have been the maker because it was the first manufacturer to be able to put a photo quality image on porcelain (and the time frame fits) and they were the royal purveyors of dinnerware to the Royal house.

I would love any input if anyone knows more about these teacups.
Were they given as parting gifts to staff?
Were they used in the royal family?
