The set was purchased in Rome City, Indiana in the 1930s. The backstamp is a smiley face (see picture). It was possibly made at a convent near this town.

The number that is different on each piece would be the mold number !! The 1081 if the same on all items would be the pattern number !! I can find no pottery that used that backstamp !! It it impressed or raised on the bottom or stamped ??
