Picked up this china set at my goodwill, after investigating I can’t seem to find anything about the makers mark. I found a thread on an antiques forum that said the factory that produced the makers mark was called United Porcelain Factory Meierhofen. He also mentioned it dates to 1925-1939, and that during most of that time it was part of EPIAG. This is the only information I have been able to find about this mark and this piece of china. If you can tell me what the V and the 18 stands for would also be great! Thanks in advance for any help!!
The “V” as well as the number are irrelevant quality assurance / workflow additions.
A translation of given names is an absolute no-go. There never was a factory with the cited name, and each translation (who made it and where) creates more confusion. The original name was “Vereinigte Porzellanfabriken Meierhöfen”, a distingtive plural. But then again that name was only in use between 1918 and 1928 as the factory then became the “Porzellanfabrik Gebrüder Benedikt AG”.
