Hi,

As a step in our preparations for a long distance move we have started to throw away and sell items that we don’t need or want and a part of those items are “collections” gathered by our parents and grandparents. Among these items we found 9 small porcelain boxes and 7 of them had the same mark (moreor less) underneath so instead of Selling them at a garage sale I decided to try and gather some info on them.

So my questions are:

1. Is late 18th Century Sevres a good guess? All have the same symbol, one of them has a “L” in the symbol, two has an “M” above the symbol and the rest has a “M” inside the symbol.
2. Is there a name for this type of boxes? I guess they aren’t Snuff Boxes.
3. Is there anywhere online where I could read more about value on this kind of items? Bringing them to an auction house would require me to take a full day of work and I need to know if it’s Worth it.
