I have a Nippon serving bowl (i think) i have the same size bowl called a cake plate to. I have search the internet to find the pattern with no success. Could any one help me identify the pattern and a rough valuation.

Hi Rob, I have several books on Nippon and most all of Nippon items do not have a pattern name, they did make some dinnerware set’s that have a pattern name but they are decorated very simple, with only small decorations going around outer edges. Otherwise everything else is highly hand painted and elaborately decorated. Is there any mark’s at all on your bowl or cake plate? If there is no mark’s then the only way you can tell is by being a collector and an expert eye because there is a lot of this faked and made after 1921. I could not find anything that resembles your items in any of my books.
