Hi Rob, Here is the difference between your mark and the Nippon mark before 1921. The M in the wreath stands for Morimura Bros. The M stands for the importer. Now the outer lines of the m touch the top of wreath and the bottom on both sides of the wreath. In other words the M is longer. Also has one single and 11 rows of petals on both side on the wreath. The word Nippon is slightly thinner. However after 1921 the exports were supposed to be marked Japan but they never. they kept on using the word Nippon and got by with it by saying it was a company name. So technically it is Nippon but not the older Nippon which is worth more money. Now you see a lot of it on E-bay. Most people don’t know the difference unless you are a devoted & serious Nippon collector. As far as value I’m going to leave that up to someone else.
