I realize this is a duplicate. If I knew how to remove the other entry, I would. Please bear with me here. I inherited this Nippon Handpainted vase from an avid collector of antiques during the Great Depression. Can anyone help me describe it and place a value on it? I had thought to sell it on eBay. Any help would be appreciated.
thank you for looking at the Pickard vase. I found a signature of it and attempted to add pictures showing the size of the mark and the signature. I have either flooded the inbox of Kovels with multiple messages, which I apologize for, or failed miserably. Am waiting to see if the pictures appear before trying again. The signature is not on the bottom, as it appeared to be on a lot of them on Google, but on the side. It is handwritten with a paintbrush, which is not easy to do, I guess. It seems to be J. M (or R) ic H or (K) followed by three or four letters. I had decided it was a clover pattern, due to the honeycomb of the gold on the green band, and the three and four leaf clover appearing flower things. I do appreciate your help.
Of course you may use it !! Add anything else you feel may help the sale !! Sales in general are kind of slow except for the pieces that are out of the mainstream !! I think your vase fits that category !! The pics are the main thing to concentrate on !! You want to show it to the best advantage possible !! Yes I have looked at the Pickard vase !!
Excellent !! This is how I would word your listing.,,
Title:” Stunning Art Deco Era Hand Painted Nippon Vase”
Description:,, An absolute beauty of a vase that would be an asset to your collection !! Classic hand painted roses and gold bands frame the Mae West form !! 9 inches tall and free from chips or damage !! Has been in the same family since the early 1930`s !! Correct early maple leaf mark with no wear that would affect its beauty or value !!
Be sure to take the best pics you can and list anything that you might think a buyer would want to know about !! Collectors can be picky !!
As to price,, they are all over the place !! I would start it at $19.99 and see where it goes !! Be sure to put a reserve on it if there is a certain price below which you would not sell !!
