I have a white porcelain hand painted box in the shape of a dresser with shelves. The dresser is painted in a faux mahogany brown wood tone with gold accents. The porcelain dresser top is decorated in a faux marble. As far as I can see, there is only one identifying mark which are the numbers: . 8.11. The dresser measurements: 6 1/2″ tall X 6 1/4″ wide X 3 1/2″ deep
Questions:
1. What would you call this piece, and what would it be used for ?
2. Approximately when was it made?
3. What is it’s worth?
Thank you for your time.
I would simply call it a dresser box or trinket box !! Made sometime between 1940 and 1960 which was the heyday for all these boxes !! Probably made in japan and had a stick on label !! I would call it late Victorian style for simplicity sake !!
As to value,, no way to know what anyone would pay for it !! Its a personal thing !! Some would like it and some may not !! Its a toss up !! I do not see quality in it as with some of the more expensive dresser boxes !!
