I have owned this lovely lady for at least 15 years, but have not been able to identify her. I recently tracked the pottery mark on the bottom to a company called Nippon Yoko Boeki, but can’t find any examples of this lady head anywhere. If anyone has any information that could help, I would be very appreciative.

It is not Nippon,it’s Nihon and that mark in my Japan books shows it was used in the 1950ties. Most head vases do not have a name unless it’s a movie star. Your girl is asian, that’s why she’s rarer. Some of these can be worth $400.00to $600.00 or more. Head vase collector’s even have a huge club so yes hang on to it and add to your collection while prices are low in some area’s.

Wow…thank you for that information. So, Nihon or Nippon Yoko Boeki? The value is astounding, but I have not found any examples of this particular lady in any books, so the curiosity has been killing me. I took her to a show once and without even examining her closely, a dealer quickly offered me $35, which of course I rejected because I could never part w/ her. She is in excellent condition and much cherished in my collection. Thank you again.

Hi, Your lady head vase was made in the 1950ties at the NIHON YOKO BOEKI CO. Your’s is sorta rarer than most. I did find one that was very close to your’s valued at $222.00. Kovel’s 1911 price guide book. The price could be higher, it depends on if two collectors do not have this particular girl. She’s very detailed and look’s to be in very good condition. Like a lot of thing’s prices dropped on these head vases. But some are still very valuable. Have a good day!
