Hello all, Goodday,
I have a few pieces I need some assistance with. They are all Porcelain pieces with the exception of one which I am unsure because it is a large serving tray sort. The figurines are people and range from children to one larger(tall) Lady wearing a long blue dress. Very finely made, very detailed in the work. The large Platter is round/oval Pearl White basae with a couple of large flowers, Look to be roses, pink in color. The edges of the handled platter are heavy(wide) Gold. The marks on all the pieces is smply RP, with the figurines being markes on the inside lower bottom in black, and the platter is marked in the same gold as the edging simply RP on the bottom. Might the be pieces by the latter RP Copeland? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all so very much,
Chris PickettB)
Hi Chris, In my book of pottery & porcelian of USA marks by lois lehner I found a RP mark for Richard Peeler. Him & his wife Marj Own a studio and teach ceramics all over many colleges. Their studio is in Reelsville Ind. They turn out over 10,000 items per year.Started in 1948 and in business when this book was printed 1988. They make pottery vase and many sculpters of figurines, bird, animals and people. their work is superior and finely detailed. Mostly all their item are marked simply RP. If this is it I would’nt have an idea of what their stuff is worth. Hope this helps you some.
