Hi,
I’m researching my family history and came across and profession called Potters Engraver to do with Colclough China. Now I know nothing was carved into the china so does anyone know what a Potters Engaver from the early 1900s would do? Did they write the logo on the bottom of the china?

thanks
alex

Scroll down here to “potters printer” !! The printer made the transfers used on china from engraved plates !! The engraver would have made the engraved plates they used !! Could be another name for it since it is not listed above !! Could be just “engraver”,, have not checked that yet !! Could also be Potters Engraver just to indicate that he worked for that pottery !! Engraving a metal plate was a bit time consuming I think !!

thanks 🙂
