Can anyone tell me about Purinton pottery Intaglia done in carmel (caramel) color.
I read somewhere that this was an experimental line and I have quite a few pieces.
And does anyone know any prices?
I live about 20 miles from Knox where this was made.
I can’t find any info anywhere.
Thanks!
Here is some info from Lehners pottery and porcelian. The factory was located in Shippenville,Penn from 1942-1959. Slip ware was cast and then later pressed. They added colored minerals. Glaze was applied by dipping The decorated ware and was only fired once. For awhile some was made in Wellsville,Ohio beginning in 1936 then moved to Pennsylvania. They do not have a high value. Kovels have a lot listed as Intaglio and the color is Desert Brown. Prices range from $12.50 to $30.00. I don’t know what your pieces are but you can get prices from Kovel’s price Guide
