[filMy grandmother has given me a Majolica jardiniere and pedestal that I have been trying to research for years. In the 1940’s she worked at an old hotel on Miami Beach, FL and the owner was an older man that had been collecting antiques all his life. Before his death he gave my grandmother these pieces which are unbelievable. I would appreciate any information and personal opinion. The jardiniere is 14 inches in height and the pedestal is 19 inches. I can’t find any markings. What I find odd is there is a neoclassical kind of scene that runs through the middle of jardiniere but on the pedestal, which is octagon shaped, there is different side profiles of what looks to be military figures. It would even be a historical progression. I’m lost and only guessing. Thanks for any reply.
