I just bought a 1943 rookwood vase. Plain white with number 2545F on the bottom….I was wondering if anyone could give me a price on it. I have the Rookwood pottery identification and price book but can’t find the vase. It’s about 7 inches tall. Thanks for your help.

HiJb, You need to go on website Art pottery Blog. Every piece of Rookwood is marked. You vase should have a backward R with the P, the flame with 14 flames, earlier pieces don’t all have 14 flames but your’s should until 1967. on every piece should be Roman numerals until 1967 right under the logo., They started using numeral’s in 1901. The F with your number’s means smallest size in this pattern. If all this is on your vase you should have a rookwood. I could not find any pieces called white even though they looked like white to me,but white matte, matte white or cream white. Yes there is lot’s of fakes especially rookwood and roseville. I was very surprised to read that Rookwood is still in production after many owners. If you bought this cheap don’t think that it’s a repo, The economy has hurt some collector’s and need to sell. I’m seeing this with many Fenton collectors. XL11 is 42

On ebay. It’s a 1942 though. It’s plain white and I haven’t seen any plain whites anywhere. Maybe its a fake. It looks like the 1952 2545F bud vase but on the bottom of mine it has XLII. That’s 42 right? Anyone know where rookwood usually put their “x’s” on their pieces if they were bad? I wouldn’t think it would be in the roman numeral line but I don’t know.

hi, I’m curious as to where did you just buy it? I looked on website by google rookwood vase 2545F and came up with different vase’s from different years with the same number so I can’t help you. Maybe there is other Rookwood collector’s or try Kovel’s price guide on this website. I looked through several books of their’s that I have but no matte white with that year.
