I’m researching some Rosenthal china (Florentine pattern) in preparation for selling it. Does the year of manufacture affect price? In other words, are Florentine pattern pieces made in one year, say 1954, more valuable than those made in a different year? Any help would be appreciated!

No it would not affect the value !! Actually none in this pattern are selling well !! China dinnerware is hard to sell right now except for the really rare and difficult to find pieces !! Florentine is a common pattern as are others in the Rosenthal line !! I checked 4 different sites including ebay and none are doing well !!

That’s very helpful! As a follow-up: does that affect the value of the china? Are you familiar with situations in which the “original” production run of china might be more (or less) valuable than the later runs? What would be a good source of information on this value/pricing issue?

Thanks!

That is correct !! Many mfrs made a particular pattern several years and occasionally would re-release the same pattern years after its initial production !! This was common for popular patterns !!
