Oh Really ?? I wondered why his name kept popping up in almost every search I did but said nothing about this pattern !!
I have yet to find a pic or reference to it either !! Only thing I can recommend is to do a search on it weekly just to see if another turns up !! If not a limited run there must be more out there somewhere !!
LOL !! Oh,, did you also get to go on the obligatory ” Snipe Hunt ” ?? A rite of passage for most young southerners !!
http://collectrosenthal.com/designers.html You can cross van Loon off the list !! he didn`t start with Rosenthal till 1980 !! The list is all the artists and designers that worked for or with Rosenthal. I didn`t see anything else that looked helpful !!
Well I just heard back from the nice lady at Rosenthal Germany and it turns out that this pattern was designed by Bjorn Wiinblad.
The really strange thing still though is that she says this was not a limited edition run pattern at all but even with the designer, brand, series and pattern names now I still cannot find a single photo or reference to the pattern anywhere.
Very strange indeed.
Well,, at least you know the pattern name “Vivi” or if not a name then a design line and a year !! I had a very knowledgable person on my other forum to look and he didn`t find anything either !! But that response raises more questions than it answers !! There is a member here who is also a member on antique-shop.com who is a porcelain expert !! His name is Chris Marshall and he owns www.porcelainmarksandmore.com !! Let me ask him to take a look and see if he has any additional info !!
