I have a Pottery figure which appears to be a faun sitting on a pear. He has a human top and goat legs and tail. It looks to be a decanter of some sort and has a handle. It is marked on the bottom sarreguemines then numbers 3779 227 08 n2 BB.

I cannot find anything about this particular piece and was trying to get some more info and possibly a value. Thanks

I would say that the alone affair I could acclaim is attending at books in your library, they are aggregate calm with added Toby and Character jug books.

To me they are very rare. I have never heard of Sarreguemines until you wrote. I have been to hundreds of auctions and antique shops and flea mkts. Lots of Royal Doulton characters but not these. Very seldom do you even see Royal Doulton Tobies(jugs). I’m not sure if these are limited editions or not. The only thing I could reccomend is look at books in your library, they are grouped together with other Toby and Character jug books.

Thank you for that info! I cannot find this in searches anywhere. I have searched for hours on this particular piece and nothing is coming up. I still cannot find a match for the one I have so I just want to make sure it is not a rare or limited edition piece.

Shantique Gallery website has the history of Sarreguemines. Yours is a Toby jug(whole body) Character jug is just the head and shoulder. Kovels has them priced at $100.00 -250.00 depending on size.
