Hi Everybody, I am just wondering what the value of this item would be. I purchased it because I thought it was beautiful and it is in very good condition. I have attached a picture of the teacup & saucer. I know it is a Shelley Rose Peony teacup and saucer from about 1961 but haven’t been able to find another one online to compare it to. Thank you for any help. 🙂

Wow Thank you so much, I only paid $30 for it because I like it so it’s good to know it’s actually worth something. 🙂

Sorry to come late to the party but better late than never I guess. That teacup and saucer combo is Shelley Gold Peony #0584/S41

It’s a nice set and I have seen them selling (asking price anyway) for over $200.00 If you needed to assess a value for insurance I would put it at $250 just to be safe.

I haven’t had to purchase that pattern so I can’t speak to what people are actually getting for it (it also rarely shows up for sale) but as I mentioned I have seen it recently at an asking price of over $200.

Hope that helps some.

Cheers

Thank you so much for your reply. It is amazing what people will pay if they love something. Maybe someone else might know about it. 🙂

Hi Bee, You are right, I could’nt find any like your’s either, as a matter of fact I never seen any two alike on e-bay either. There must be thousands of pattern’s, just as there is so many different prices. Even in my antique books they are priced from $20.00 to $225.00. Most set’s were sold for average of &40.00 but then some sold for in the 100rds. I think it depends on age, design, artist signed and flower design. Therefore I came to the conclusion it’s impossible to give you any kind of value. I learned a lot on Shelley china. Can’t believe someone paid over 500.00 for 3 piece set.
