My grandmother has a standard esther semi porcelain pheasant platter that is in good condition. I have looked all over the internet to try and find out about it but I am coming up empty handed. Does any one know about the company, platter or even a good website to go to? There are not a lot of antique dealers where I live so before I drive 45 minutes away I would like to try and find out more about the platter online.

Yes, that would be nice!!! I am also hoping maybe I can find a book some where to figure it out. But, thanks so much again for replying and helping!

I have a strong feeling your plate is from the 1800rds. But like you said I don’t think it is worth a fortune. I’m curious as to what country it originates from. You would think that Kovel’s could answer a few of these questions on their own site once in awhile. Does everything have to about money?

Thank you so much for replying! I tried to attach pictures but they were too big. But, I saw the plates as well. I don’t really think it is some thing that could be worth a lot but, I am just curious.
I don’t know the exact validity of this but my grandmother who is 83 said her mother got it before she was born from Missouri’s govenor at the time. She said they were letting people who lived in the neighborhood have one piece from his mansion. It is kind of an odd story because I don’t know
why this stuff would be given away but, I do know it is old. I think I will ask a dealer and have to suck it up and do the drive because I would love to know more about it.

hi, I came up with only two pieces on the web. One was a butter dish, the other plain white plates. I saw the back stamp but no country or nothing. Both were discribed as “antique”. I believe they were made overseas. There is nothing in my American pottery or dinnerware books of this company. It could have been a company not in business for long or merged with another. As far as valued I have no idea because it’s not plentiful and is there collecters for this. Worth something, it would depend on how colorful and the size of pheasant to men who collect pheasant items and there is lot’s of them. It might be worth it to ask a dealer.
