Hi everyone, I have been interested in late 1800’s to early 1900’s stoneware jugs (whiskey) and crocks. I hear they are collectible and have seen some specific guides and websites but I don’t see the popularity of them online as far as forums or discussions. Is there a reason for this?

Hi, I think the reason is because they are club’s and you have to pay a membership fee to be on the dicussion forum Red Wing has a good one and so does Galena pottery and probably more. I have seen the prices of whiskey jugs and crocks in good condition sky rocket at auctions in the last few years. For a long time there was a slump, you were lucky to get $8.00 for a gallon whiskey jug now they are going for $35.00 to $70.00 unmarked. Making homemade wine and beer is back and again very popular. The younger generation is really getting enthused over crockery. Good luck with your collecting
