Having problem reading the maker’s mark on this bowl. I have googled different spellings but do not seem to get a hit.

13.5″ x 4.5″ Blue Bowl

Could be part of a backstamp but more likely,,since your piece is probably English Staffordshire transferware,,part of a previous production run that happened to stick to yours as it was being made !! The link above is for the transferware collectors club that has a good data base for searching by the pattern name !! You could buy a limited 24 hr membership if you want to research further !!

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I am guessing then that the maker’s mark might be the “P” above the Ganges?

There are no other marks on the bottom other than what you see in the photo. There is something that might be a mark on the side of the bowl, down towards the base.

That is no manufacturer mark but a series/decoration description, “Ganges” (as in: Ganges river, India).
