trying to identify this cookie jar – any help would b appreciated

Hi,
A marking may be present on the bottom of the jar or in the lid. MarthaHill asked if “Japan” was present and that may fit the bill here. There are two listings on Ebay of jars similar to your….I mean in design of the jar and handle, but they are female. Should your cookie jar say Japan, this may give you an idea of value at least.
This one sold for $195.00, but because it sold, you will have to click on “see original listing”:

This one has an asking price of $375.00:

What did the book say ?? I found several similar but not this exact one !! All were made in Japan and had the basket type handle !! Because your jar is missing so much paint,,value may not be as much as SophieMarie`s links are asking !! Cookie jars used to be one of the hot collectables but prices have dropped quite a bit in the last few years !!

Hello,
I’m glad you were able to find a reference for your cookie jar. Would you be so kind as to share the information you found, as I do not have access to the book mentioned? My request is two fold: 1) Curiosity 2) So that we may help someone else in the future. The links given to you were reference points because I could not find your “exact: teapot. As always, please keep in mind the condition of an item, the date sold, and that an asking price is not always what the item may sell for today. Thanks for your help!

Hello – apologies in my tardiness in response – please see url below to the reference I found
