I found this adorable plate the other day a brought it home. Now I’m trying to find out the name of the pattern. I’ve attached a photo of the plate I need help with, but here is a written description as well: pale pink boarder with gold trim, hand painted farm scene of 4 men in sombreros and mother hen with chicks in center. Any one have any knowledge of this pattern? I would appreciate some help. Thank you in advance.
The mark used (“Royal Crescent China Bavaria”) is the mark of an (to me) unknown distributor/importer which purchased these items from various suppliers and sold them as blanks to decorators and hobbyists.
Hence the thousands of different decorations, styles, and qualities to be found on items marked like this. I doubt that hobbyists really “named” their decorations; there was no reason to do so as they never created larger numbers or whole series.
