Hello,

I need help identifying if this is an authentic mark. Based on my research, I think the mark is Vincennes / Sevres 1754 – 5 (Interlaced L’s marks enclosing the date letter B ).

The piece is a cobalt or lapis blue fluted flower bowl with gilt scrolls cartouches issuing leaves and flowers.

Thank you for your assistance.

Ok the website address would have been sufficient.
I recognise that page as being from http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/

I have previously found more detailed references online for Sevres /Vincennes with many more examples of the marks. But that still won’t tell you if it’s fake.

As a general rule, its the more showey pieces which get faked. More modest examples tend not to be worth the fakers while, though that said they are much easier to fake.

My feeling is that its genuine but I am not an expert and even the experts can get fooled ! In your shoes I’d email the photos to a museum with a significant Sevres collection and / or the revelent department of a top auction house in your country. If you can take it along to one of their valuation days, all the better.
