Hi – I have a pottery Baseball Glove Ashtray that has Van Briggle Colo. Spgs. with an emblem that looks like “A” in a rectangle box. I found it in my mom’s house after she was deceased. I am sending pictures. I would like to sell it. Can you please tell me an approximate amount that it is worth. Thank you very much. Sandra
Martha – Thank you so much for your extreme amount of help. I did not notice the skull in the picture. It does not show up on the actual piece. I have included another shot of the whole ashtray that was taken at the same time. There is no skull on that photo. Interesting!! LOL !! Been looking for this for two days !! Did you notice the skull in your last pic ?? Click on the pic to enlarge it and look at the light area on the left !! I know its a glare and not on the ashtray but its unusual !!
I have not found this ashtray anywhere !! I know it looks like a baseball glove but I am not sure that is what was intended. Another thing,, Van Briggle was never signed with that U shaped V !! It was always this way V !! Now it may be a newer pattern or it could be a total fake !! Give me another day or so and let me cross post this to another forum and see if they know about it !!
Thank you for your response. I’m sorry. I thought I had posted a picture of the front of the ashtray. The ashtray measures 9″ X 6-3/4″ The pictures that I have included in this message shows the ashtray down on a table. This is the one that I have. If it doesn’t work, let me know. There is no blue on the ashtray. It is brown except for where the cigarettes could be held. There it’s kind of gray imitating ashes. Thank you for your interest in helping me. Sandra
