I’m hoping someone can give me more information about Wedgwood Etruria and Barlaston marks. I realize the ones without the “R” trademark date. Eternal 1940-1973. I have two pieces with this mark, however one also has impressed “Wedgwood made in England” and two other impressed characters, maybe an X and 7 or A. What difference does the presence or lack of the additional impressed marking mean? Is it a datable attribute?
Thanks,
Annette

Both of your marks are after 1940 !! It is common to find both the impressed mark and the stamped mark !! They used so many variations that I think the mark they used just depended on the mood they were in that day !! The value of the item you have depend on what it is,, not the variation of the mark that is on it !! You can look at the link above for info on dating Wedgwood !! Only on very early items will it make an appreciable difference !!
