I have beautiful pottery of which I was told that it is from Wedgwood. I am not at all sure of the mark in the bottom. Can somebody identify the mark and tell also from which period it is?

That is correct,, would have en added after the dish was fired last !! Normally this is done when an item is for export,, so that mark could be for an import company !! You usually find this with a stick on label stating the country of origin !! As in “Made in Japan/China” or whatever the country is !!
Will see if anything turns up in that search !!

It seems to me that the mark is on top. Maybe it means that it has been added later than the dish was made.

I would not call the dish a fake,, the maker did not try to pass this off as Wedgwood !! But whoever sold it to you certainly did !! Jasperware was and is made by other mfrs !! Odd thing is that this particular mark has not shown up anywhere on the internet !!
One more thing ,, can you tell if this mark is stamped on top of the glaze or is it under the glaze ?? If on top the mark will be more dull than the surrounding area, if under the glaze all will have the same shine !!

Hello Martha again
This is not very good photo but I hope you can see it. Do you agree with me that it is fake?
