My Mother received this for a wedding present in 1935. My sister seems to think it is Deruta pottery. I have researched it,but, am not sure. If someone could help me, I would totally appreciate it. Just the number and Italy don’t tell us who made it but the symbol in ballon might mean something to an expert.

Yes it could date from the 20s or at any time since then.
Deruta is marked as such as with this example:
