I got this set from an auction and it’s beautiful, but since there are no markings on the bottom, I’ve had a frustrating time trying to figure out who made it and when.  It has the Kutani-style design, but it is a man and not Geisha Girls like I am used to seeing on Kutani pieces.  Plus this set looks more aged and is made from a very thin eggshell type material instead of run-of- the-mill porcelain.

I have tried Google Lens and EBay to try to search by image and no luck.  I have searched all over the web by describing it, but it pulls up the Geisha Girls pieces every time.

I thought surely I would find it on this site, but no luck so far.  I don’t know if there was a mark on this and it wore off or if there never was a mark.

I will paste a few pics and maybe someone can help me.  I’ll put pics of every angle and I also have one where I am holding the saucer up to the light to show how translucent it is.

Thanks in advance to anyone who may have an opinion or information to share.  Also, this is my first time posting on a forum, and frankly I am still a newbie to all this, so please forgive me if I worded anything wrong or sound like the amateur I am!

These were simply imports made for sale in the uS and other countries ! They were never used in Japan ! They made many hundreds as cottage industries ! The artwork is very simple ! After the war that is how many supported their families ! It would have had a stick on label stating where it was made but these never lasted long ! Few items made in Japan even had labels of any kind and even if they did it rarely told much 1
