Hello!

I found this cool old teacup/mug at a thrift store and cannot figure out the markings to save my life.

The cup itself is pinkish, and the blue markings seem to be hand painted as they’re a little irregular. The marking on the bottom is green (a little unusual compared to what I normally find) but that hasn’t helped me find the maker.

To me, this looks like a crown over a bird which is over some text. The first line of text looks like three initials (maybe starting with an R?) and the second line seems to be a longer word.

Thanks in advance for any help!

This one is a stumper !! What is your location ?? I thought it may be RRP on the bottom but they never used this type mark and none I have found in the U.S. did either !! Its so worn I really can`t tell what it is but I do not think its a crown at top !! The sides go way too far for that and the top looks more ruffled than crown like points !!

I agree – I pick up pottery and ceramics all of the time and rarely have I ever grabbed a piece I couldn’t figure out! I’m located in Texas, USA.

Thanks so much for your help! Maybe someone will be able to make out what the letters are.

On a related topic, the cup is an interesting light pink color very unlike anything I’ve seen before (the pictures really do not do it justice). Have you seen anything similar?
