I have a coffee set with a mark that I believe is Retsch. I would like to know the pattern number/name, if possible, and any information known about when it may have been produced. I have tried contacting the company that bought Retsch, but they say they have no records of anything produced before they bought the company.
Really ?? Yes,, I knew that !! As I said I personally have not used them but others were pleased with the service !! Let me do some checking !!
I contacted the current Retsch Arzberg company and all they said was that they don’t make it anymore, don’t have any records and that it would have been made in the last 20 years. Not sure how they came up with that date. Maybe from the mark? The original company was bought out in 2003.
According to the replacements.com site the pattern is made by Wunseidel, which is a town and a region in Germany and not a manufacturer. They have the status of the manufacturer as unknown. So I don’t know how helpful they will be.
I compared your mark to the known mark at porcelainmarksandmore.com and it is correct for Retsch & Co. !! If you go to replacements.com they have a free pattern matching service and will research it for you for the pattern name !! I believe you will find it on the homepage !! I have not used the service but have known others that have and were pleased with it !! Very nice set !!
