Looking for some assistance in pricing a set of 9 albumen prints.
Prints are part of a series of photos taken by Major Jared A. Smith for the US Lighthouse Establishment in 1885. Research has shown that the USCG Historian’s Dept has copies of some of these prints but for other locations the reference shows “Photo Unavailable”.

In addition, a number of prints are of lighthouses (Chesapeake Bay Region) that no longer exist due to storm, demolition, or replacement. My research so far has not produced other known sources. While the existence of additional print’s is well documented it would seem that due to the nature of the subject material, the hand lettered title and attribution on all copies, and the fact that this was produced by and for a government agency, I would assume the original prints were somewhat limited.

Print dimensions 7 1/2″ X 9 1/2″. All prints are mounted on 11″x14″ card, punched with two holes on short side (for album?). Some pages have numbers hand lettered in red on the mounts. All mounts hand inscribed with name of lighhouse, photographers attribution and date. Dates are 1885 for all prints. Cursive style of inscriptions typical of indicated date.

While I wish I could be altruistic enough to donate these historical pieces to the US Lighthouse Society or such, personal finances at this time require some reasonable purchase price. Having a difficult time finding pricing for these some what specialized items. Nautical, historical, and photography.
