I have two original Fra Angelico’s celestial Angels with tabernacles given to me by grandparents in 1967. The original bill of sale is dated 10/23/1900 from Giraldi & Rangoni, merchants from Florence Italy. Can you please provide me with an idea of their value and a name, address, phone number of a reputable art appraisal person/firm here in Connecticut?

This should help you a bit !! Sale was in the UK !! These are not originals but are reproductions that travelers brought back when going on the Grand Tour of Europe around the turn of the century !! These are some almost identical in style !! The auction estimate was much lower that the price realized !! My suggestion would be to send good quality pics to Christie`s here in the states !! They have a free estimate service on their website !! Of course the damage may affect the value somewhat !! Just don`t lose the pieces and let me know what they say about them !! Quite a few of these have sold in the last few years but Christie`s is the only one I could see the selling price !!
