I have a print “Copyright 1937 Camilla Lucas – NY – USA” in the upper right corner. In the lower left corner is an inverted triangle shape with some letters in it; I think they are SL and an S below that. I believe there are other letters in that corner, but I can’t read them. Below the picture on the right in pencil is handwritten “Les bicoques” and in the lower right is handwritten in pencil “Pierre.” The scene is of a cottage on a river bank with trees across the river. The picture appears matted, but isn’t; it’s indented where matting lines should be. The frame is a simple gold, thin wood (I think). The back is sealed with brown paper, a bit torn, and it has a wire hanger. I like the print and am curious if there is any value to it. Others on the web have posted questions concerning other prints by this woman. Who was she? Where did she live? Why would this print have ended up in an auction at which my mother purchased it?
