I found this portrait of a horse in a local vintage shop. IT appears to be pastel, and signed by “Gordon Henshaw”. On the back is written “Baar Lad”, which I assume to be the name of the horse. The portrait is about 14 x 18 (more or less). I have not been able to find any information online about the artist or the horse. Anyone got an idea?

You may need to expand tour search !! I just barely remembered a name but that may be an Irish horse !! If you have plenty of time and nothing else to do,, there is also the thoroughbred registry !! The problem with searching for a particular horse is if there are no accomplishments, sales ect they just do not show up in a general search !! You have to search each registry !!
Didn`t find that artist name either,, are you sure of the spelling ??

Actually, for all I know it is an Irish horse or English or American or…or… But I’m actually looking more for the artist. The artist signed it and it looks like Gordon Hinshaw to me but no luck searching for that either. I also tried searching for Gorgon Henshaw. I like the painting and have no plans to get rid of it, but am just really curious about the artist. Thanks for the suggestions.

I’m sorry, I’m only TWO YEARS LATE answering a question. Yes, I misspelled the last name. It is HINSHAW. Still looking for this artist. Thanks.
