I picked up this rather quaint Victorian pastel and charcoal drawing (I’m a fond collector of paintings, drawings etc.)
Quite by chance I was researching Minton tiles on the internet and found the same design on a tile!

My question? Who is the artist? Some sources give it as William Wise (with some dates giving his birth at 1847 and others as 1823 – the drawing is dated 1853).Others say that William Wise was the engraver, and so someone else would have designed it. Could any of you fine fellows help?
