This piece turned up in a box of treasures that I acquired at a local estate auction. It appears to be a very small black and white photo from the Vietnam era sealed against a gold-colored metal background. It measures roughly 1 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches. It’s the size of a large postage stamp, but there is no monetary value pictured. Any idea where this came from or what it is? Thanks!
The helicopter is a U.S. Army CH 47,, cargo heavy Chinook helicopter !! Used from Viet Nam era to today !! No way to know why this pic was chosen to save but being in a military family,,I would bet it had something to do with the chopper !!
Or may have been done here by a family member if the service man did not return home !!
I have not seen one like it but the image looks like it was once a larger pic that has been reduced !! I can find out about the helicopter in the morning !! Stepson was a Marine helicopter pilot and is familiar with all types !! Hubby was in Viet Nam and I can also ask him about it !! Whoever had the pic likely was going to have it made into a necklace or something !! Necklaces were a big thing back then especially for men !!
