This piece turned up in a box of treasures that I acquired at a local estate auction. It appears to be a very small black and white photo from the Vietnam era sealed against a gold-colored metal background. It measures roughly 1 1/2 x 1 1/8 inches. It’s the size of a large postage stamp, but there is no monetary value pictured. Any idea where this came from or what it is? Thanks!

If it came from an estate auction I would ask the auction company who the items were from ?? If you can find that out you may be able to find out more !! Usually at an estate auction they tell the estate it is from before the sale !!

Thanks so much! One of the things I love about this hobby is finding so many interesting treasures where you didn’t really expect to find any!

The helicopter is a U.S. Army CH 47,, cargo heavy Chinook helicopter !! Used from Viet Nam era to today !! No way to know why this pic was chosen to save but being in a military family,,I would bet it had something to do with the chopper !!
Or may have been done here by a family member if the service man did not return home !!

I have not seen one like it but the image looks like it was once a larger pic that has been reduced !! I can find out about the helicopter in the morning !! Stepson was a Marine helicopter pilot and is familiar with all types !! Hubby was in Viet Nam and I can also ask him about it !! Whoever had the pic likely was going to have it made into a necklace or something !! Necklaces were a big thing back then especially for men !!
